Richard Dean Stauffer, 87, passed away April 30, 2015 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

He was born August 15, 1927 in Circleville, Kansas the son of William P. and Mary (Eastbourne) Stauffer. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1945. On October 28, 1951 Richard married Emma J. McQueen in Soldier. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2008. He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 40 years and was a member of Larkinburg Christian Church.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debbi Wrobliske of Cypress, TX, Melissa Gibeson of Topeka, KS, Roberta Stauffer of Topeka, KS and Patti Peterson (Jay) of Manhattan, KS; and his 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his brother Leland Stauffer, his son, Robert Dean Stauffer and his parents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
