SPENCER
CIRCLEVILLE- Richard Spencer, 84, of Circleville, KS died Monday, October 20, 2008 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was born January 26, 1924 in Circleville, the son of Fred and Goldie Pool Spencer.
He graduated from Circleville High School in 1942 and attended the University of Kansas before serving in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. Richard was a farmer and stockman in the Circleville community all of his life. He was a member of the Circleville United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Topeka and a life member of V.F.W. Post #1367 in Holton.
Richard was married to Evelyn Zwahl on March 5, 1951 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Myla K. Cole and her husband, Jim of Circleville, KS; his son, Kelly Spencer of Circleville, KS and his granddaughter, Erin Spencer of Springfield, Nebraska.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Circleville Cemetery. He will lie in state until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
