RICHARD V. SPAAR

HOLTON- Richard V. Spaar, 76, of Holton, KS passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, KS. He was born July 1, 1931 in Decatur, IL, the son of Vernon Henry and Ruth Waymire Spaar.
Richard graduated from Decatur High School in 1950. He worked for Goodyear for 34 years where he was Accounting Supervisor. He and his family moved from the Chicago area to a farm west of Holton, KS in 1971. He was a member of Lakeview Faith Chapel south of Holton. He was married to Ruby P. Taylor on July 2, 1959 in Decatur, IL. She survives. Other survivors include his sons, Richard "Rick" Spaar and Norma of Footville, WI, Tony Spaar of Eudora, KS, Eric Spaar and Lori of Holton, KS, Doug Spaar and Mavis of Topeka, KS and Tim Spaar and Terri of Pace, FL; his daughters, Twila Myers of Pensacola, FL, Sheila Askren and Steve of Holton, KS, Angie Critchett and Paul of Indian Trail, NC and Laura Aguirre of Aurora, CO; his sisters, Dorothy Lambert and Lloyd of Anderson IN and Jean Drew and Larry of Decatur, IL; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Olive Hill Cemetery 10 miles west of Holton. The family will greet friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Lakeview Faith Chapel or Apostolic Christian Home c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
