Richard A. Lane, 79, of Topeka, KS and formally of Valley Falls, KS passed away Monday, May 11, 2026 at The Gardens at Aldersgate in Topeka, KS. He was born December 29, 1946 in Valley Falls, KS, the son of Clarence Alvin and Anna L. (Welch) Lane.
Richard was an avid Kansas Jayhawk fan and he enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his brother Dennis Lane (Cheryl) of Topeka, KS ;1 nephew Waylon Lane (Tori); 2 great-nephews, Lucas and Kasen and 1 great-niece, Sophia.
Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls is in charge of arrangements. To leave a special message for the family, please visit www.mercerfuneralhomes.com.
