Richard "Dick" Leroy Greeve, 79, of Holton, KS passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home. He was born July 15, 1938 in Abilene, KS the son of Frank and Ruth (Yocky) Greeve.
Dick graduated from high school in Topeka. After graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 – 1957 as a tank driver. He had lived in the Jackson County community for 15 years and previously in Topeka. Dick worked as a train mechanic at Rockwells in Atchison for 7 years and as a pipe-fitter in Fort Worth, TX, retiring after 10 years.
He married Lillian Simpson in 1960 in Salina, KS. They later divorced. He was preceded in death by a son, David Greeve; a daughter, Sherry Greeve; his step-father, Don White; a sister, Mary Greeve; 2 brothers, Bill and John Greeve and 2 grandchildren, Lacey Greeve and Cagney Greeve.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Greeve of Holton, KS; a brother, Dale Greeve of Topeka, KS; 4 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Richard Greeve Memorial Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
