Obituary

Rex L. Fisher, 74, formerly of Topeka and Soldier, died Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Topeka. He was born October 12, 1933 in Soldier, KS, the son of Paul and Bernice Schantz Fisher. He was the co-owner of Perine Iron Works in Topeka until his retirement in 2005. He graduated from Soldier High School in 1951. He was a veteran having served in the Army from 1952 – 1955.
Rex married Elizabeth Reiff Hinton on July 1, 1983 at Gage Park in Topeka. She survives. He is survived by a daughter, Rozanna Fisher of Wetmore, KS; sons, Damon Fisher of Soldier and Ramon Fisher and his wife, Melinda of Onaga, KS; step-children, Duane Hinton and his wife Wanda of Topeka, Larry Hinton and his wife Melinda of Topeka, and Linda Ellis of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters-in-law, Arleta Fisher of Topeka and Jackie Fisher of Platte City, MO; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Rex was preceded in death by his former wife, Gladys Beryl Fisher; brothers, Charles, Willis, and Owen Fisher.
The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to Midland Hospice and sent c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
