Ramona Sue "Susie" Shepard, 62, Valley Falls, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at her home.

She was born Feb. 5, 1953, at Onaga, the daughter of Charles Lowry and Betty Bonjour Labbe. She graduated from Onaga High School in 1971.

Susie was a Slot Technician and Hostess at Prairie Band Casino at Mayetta. She had worked at the Oldham's Plant at Holton for 14 years. She and her husband, Tom, had operated a dairy farm north of Valley Falls.

She married Thomas E. Shepard, Oct. 21, 1981, at Valley Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Todd Golder.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Shepard, of the home; her daughter, Heidi (Todd) Pickerell, and their children, Natalie Sue and Nathan Franklin, all of Valley Falls; her son Eric Jeanneret, Valley Falls, and his son, Caleb James; and five brothers, Dennis Lowry, Silver Lake, Randy Lowry, Hutchinson, Rich Lowry, Ridgedale, MO, Charlie Lowry, Onaga, and Bob Lowry, Topeka.

Susie was loved by everyone who knew her. She had a contagious smile, never knew a stranger, and always welcomed friends into her home.

The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Mercer Funeral Home at Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Coal Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
