HOLTON- Phyllis Jean Wilson, 92, of Holton, KS, formerly of Mayetta, KS, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at The Pines South. She was born August 11, 1930 in Bloomfield, NE. Shortly after birth, she was relinquished for adoption. She was adopted in Omaha, NE, by Guy Elwin and Cora F. (Fitzgerald) Devars. She grew up in Orleans with them.

She was the middle child of 5 children of her biological family. In later years, she got acquainted with her biological family.

Phyllis graduated from high school in Orleans, Nebraska and lived in Mayetta for over 55 years. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Security Benefit for many years.

She married Earl S. Wilson on December 4, 1949 in Orleans, NE. They celebrated over 43 years of marriage before his passing on October 16, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Cora Devars.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Jeff Wilson (Thelma) of Mayetta, KS and Jim Wilson (Liz) of Raymore, MO; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson (Nicole), Todd Wilson (Alison), Caitlin Morse (Mitch) and Emily Carberry (Stephen); 7 great-grandchildren, Karsyn & Connor, Timber & Tinley, Kennedy & Deacon and Wilson as well as many biological family members.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 19, 2023 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at Mayetta Cemetery. Cards of condolence may be sent to Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
