Phyllis J. Rawlings, 82, of Mayetta, KS died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Lexington Park Nursing Facility in Topeka, KS. She had fought a long and brave battle with Parkinson's disease for several years. The courage and grace she exhibited during this difficult time was inspiring.
Phyllis was born June 16, 1925 in Hunter, KS. She attended Whiting High School and eventually moved to Mayetta, KS, where she owned and operated Mayetta Oil Co. following the death of her husband, Lyle Rawlings on March 23, 1972. Survivors include her children, Connie Deedrick (John) and James White; grandchildren, Chris Lewis (Bobbi), Matt Lewis (Michelle), and Becky Sharpe (Scott) and 7 great-grandchildren, all of Topeka; her sister, Josephine Ambrose of Alexandria, VA.
