Peggy A. "Peg" Bachmeier, 89, of Holton, KS passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born October 19, 1925 in Superior, IA, the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Dyke) Mickelsen.

Peg graduated from Elbow Lake High School at Elbow Lake, MN in 1943. She also graduated from Moorhead Teachers College in Minnesota and Dickinson Teachers College in North Dakota.

Peg also lived in Topeka, where she worked for Best Western, before moving to Holton in 1991. She taught elementary school for 3 years in Minnesota and 15 years in North Dakota before moving to Topeka.

She married Joseph Bachmeier in 1949, they later divorced.
Peg was preceded in death by her 2 daughters, Mary Reisenauer on November 18, 1977 and Karen Bachmeier on March 4, 1971.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Beck-Bookman Library c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
