VENNEBERG
HOLTON – Margaret Pearl Venneberg, 94, of Holton formerly of Havensville died Friday, April 21, 2006 at Jackson County Nursing Home. She was born September 25, 1911 in Taloga, OK. She was the daughter of John and Clara Maud Day Nicholas. She was a graduate of Havensville High School.
Pearl was a homemaker and farmwife. She was a member of Havensville Christian Church and had attended Bucks Grove United Methodist Church. She was a member of Bucks Grove Ladies Aide and Order of the Eastern Star. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs, also quilting, knitting, crocheting, making her sought after scratchers, and refinishing furniture.
Pearl married Fred Gilbert Venneberg on July 15, 1930 in Holton. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1977. She was also preceded by sisters, Janie May Shove and a sister who died at birth; brother; Thomas "Cappy" Nicholas; and a nephew Gene Shove. She is survived by nephews, Noel Shove of Boulder, CO, Cecil Shove of Kansas City, MO, Henry L. Shove of Milford, CT, John Nicholas of Wichita, and Truman Nicholas of Topeka; nieces, Carol Stanley and Valerie Ingenthron both of Topeka.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 24, 2006 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at Bucks Grove Cemetery west of Holton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. Monday until service time.
