Mayetta-Paul F. Kropp, 78, of Mayetta, passed away March 12, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS. He was born June 13, 1929 in Grove, OK the son of Nelle Kropp.
He graduated from Grove High School in Grove, OK. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force serving for 21 years as an aircraft mechanic. He later moved to Oskaloosa then Mayetta and was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the 16-75ers Square Dance Club, an active member of the Air Force Sergeants Assoc. and attended Denison Bible Church.
Mr. Kropp married Ida Belle Chapman on December 26, 1952 in Topeka, KS. She passed away on January 26, 2007. He was also preceded in death by an infant son James Earl Kropp.
Survivors include a son Ralph E. Kropp of Bridgeport, AL; 3 daughters Esther L. Hall of Denison, KS, Paula J. Oestmann of Millerton, OK, Lois A. Kern of Mayetta, KS; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Midland Hospice House c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436. Inurnment will be in the Denison Cemetery at a later date. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #1367, Holton, KS.
