MAYETTA- Paul Holt, 98, of Mayetta, passed away October 14, 2008 at a care home in Holton. He was born August 2, 1910 in Hoyt, KS the son of James and Jessie Lindsey Holt.
He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1929. He was a lifelong member of the Hoyt and Mayetta community as a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Hoyt Baptist Church.
Paul married Blanche Cornelia Sheley on February 7, 1934 in Circleville, KS. She passed away on November 6, 1998. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Jessie Holt; three sisters, Naomi Helfer, Wilma Voelker and Lila Bradley; and four brothers, Ted, Charles, Lauren, and Jimmy Holt.
Survivors include two sons, John Paul Holt and his wife Dorothy of Topeka, KS and Robert Leon Holt and his wife Karen of Mayetta, KS; eight grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 in the Hoyt Cemetery. Family will greet friends 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Hoyt Baptist Church.
