HOLTON- Paul J. Ernst, 67, of Holton, KS, died Friday, January 12, 2007 at Medicalodges Jackson County. He was born February 28, 1939 in Holton, the son of Paul J. and Lena Marie Gerber Ernst, Sr.
Paul graduated from Holton High School and served in the Kansas National Guard. He owned and operated Ernst Automotive in Holton before moving to Kansas City, MO. He worked for the Municipal Water Department and later in bank security while in Kansas City. He moved back to Holton in 1988.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holton and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Paul is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Collinge and her husband, Roy of Wakarusa, KS and his niece, Marie Owings of Monticello, FL.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private inurnment will be in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church or Heart of Jackson Humane Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
