Patsy Ruth Miller, 88, of Holton, KS passed away February 26, 2014 at her home. She was born November 8, 1925 in Holton, the eldest daughter of Paul and Opal Leota (Bailey) Martin.


Patsy had lived in the Holton community until 1976 and had previously lived in Makakoff, TX from 1976 - 1989 and Wetmore from 1989 - 2004. She worked for United Telephone in both Holton and Texas and later worked for Sprint in Athens, TX before retirement. Patsy was a member of various square dance clubs in both Kansas and Texas.

She married Everett W. Miller on July 4, 1946 in Dodge City, KS. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2002. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Geneva Plantz, Darlene Martin and Carole Hainline and 2 brothers, Paul Martin, Jr. and Gerald Martin.

Survivors include 2 brothers, Monty J. Martin of Mobile, AL and Alan D. Martin of Holton, KS and many nieces and nephews.

Patsy was cremated. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, March 12, 2014 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Private family inurnment will be in the Holton Cemetery.
