HOLTON-Patricia G. "Pat" Moulden, 74, of Holton, KS passed away February 21, 2011 at her home after a courageous battle with ALS. She was born September 8, 1936, at her grandparent's farmhouse just outside of Goff, the daughter of Charlie L. and Opal A. Sourk Pittenger.
She graduated from Soldier High School in 1954. On October 31, 1954 in Holton, she married her high school sweetheart, Everett C. Moulden. Early in their marriage, Everett joined the Navy, and as the dutiful Navy wife, she traveled with him to multiple duty stations for 20 years. They eventually made their home in Holton.
Pat was a homemaker and had worked for Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton and Pyramid Garment Factory in Onaga. She later worked for Jackson County Road and Bridge, retiring after 19 years. She worked at the Senior Center in Holton after retirement.
Pat had been a member of the Soldier United Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary in Holton. She was an avid bowler and participated in many state and national tournaments. She loved camping and her later years were spent in full-time RV'ing spending the last twelve winters in south Texas. She was a dedicated sports fan and strongly supported Jackson Heights and Holton teams.
Survivors include her husband, Everett of the home; her mother, Opal Pittenger of Holton; her sons, Mark Moulden (Tammy) of Holton and Mickeal (Peggy) Moulden of Ft. Worth, TX; her daughter, Tracy Farmer of O'Fallon, MO; her sisters, Ina Grace Bryan (Richard) of Kansas City, KS and Phyllis Scott (Bob) of Holton, KS; her brother, Steve Pittenger (Barb) of Lawrence, KS; her grandchildren, Jessica, Jared, Joshua, Blake Moulden and Audrey Moulden (fiancé, Brian Cox) and Jordan Farmer and great-grandchildren, Maggie Jo and Beau Allen Moulden. She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie and brother, Rex Pittenger.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Olive Hill Cemetery west of Holton. The family will greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Jackson Co. Senior Center c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
