OPAL IRENE BOYLE
HOLTON- Opal Irene Boyle, 83, of Holton, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Holton Hospital. She was born November 5, 1924 in Greenleaf, KS, the daughter of Erie A. and Gladys Johnson Rogers. She graduated from high school in Washington, KS in 1942.
Opal worked as a tax analyst for Gulf Oil Corporation in Houston, TX for 27 years. She moved to Holton in 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton and the Unity Circle at the church. She was also a member of the Holton Community Hospital Auxiliary.
She was married to Barry Boyle on October 30, 1964 in Houston, TX. Barry passed away on March 21, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a step-daughter, Peggy Ann Boyle and a sister, Marie Odgers. Survivors include her brothers, Glen Rogers and his wife, Julia of Holton, KS and Lyle Rogers and his wife, Sandra of Auburn, KS; step-sons, James Boyle of Baltimore, MD and Charles Boyle of Rochester, NY; step-daughter, Sally Jo Bojko of Rochester, NY; 3 step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Holton. Interment will be in Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
