Norma Sue Whiteaker, 81, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born June 26, 1936 in St. Paul, AR, the daughter of Orville and Era (Ogden) Langley.
Norma Sue graduated from St. Paul High School in 1954. She had lived in the Jackson County community for 27 years. Norma Sue worked as a Para-Professional for Special Education at Topeka public schools.
She married Thad Whiteaker on June 23, 1956 in St. Paul, AR. He survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 sons, Douglas Whiteaker (Denise) of Fort Scott, KS and Kenneth Whiteaker (Deb) of Topeka, KS; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randy Whiteaker on June 21, 2017; her parents, Orville and Era Langley and her grandparents, Aaron and Sarah Ogden.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Midland Hospice Care c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
