Norma Jean Smith, 77, Olathe, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at a care facility in Shawnee.
She was born on Oct. 27, 1931, at Valley Falls, the daughter of James Walter and Kelly Grace Fisk Beerbower.
Norma had worked at J B's One Stop at Lenexa and also at USD 233 at Olathe in the school cafeteria.
She married Clyde Simon Smith, on July 22, 1950, at Lawrence. He survives. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Beerbower and James Beerbower, and a sister, Elsie Abby.
Survivors include two sons, Clifford Smith, Olathe, and LeRoy Smith, in Oklahoma: a daughter, Linda Briuer, Olathe; a brother, Jack Beerbower, Eudora; three sisters, Eva Acreage, El Paso, TX, Dora Wade, Gravette, AR, and Josephine Beerbower, Olathe, and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time, Saturday.
