Obituary

Norma Jean Farmer, 87, of Holton, KS, passed away, Sunday, December 19, 2021 at The Pines in Holton. She was born July 20, 1934 in Seneca, KS, the daughter of Ernest and Gladys Irene (Spicher) Hundley.

Norma graduated from Holton High School in 1952. She worked at Sears in Topeka for 4 years, Stephenson's Gift Shop and BMB both in Holton and was an Assistant Post Master in Circleville. Norma was mostly a homemaker.

She was a former member of the Christian Church in Circleville and presently a member of the First Christian Church in Holton.

Norma married Kenneth LeRoy Farmer on November 26, 1953 in Holton. They recently celebrated their 68 th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth of the home; daughter, Kathy Laird (Mike) of Topeka, KS; son, Michael Farmer (Kendra) of Southlake, TX; sister, Virginia Merwin of Oklahoma and 5 grandchildren, Travis Rieschick (Ashley), Jordan Farmer (Carolyn), Bailey Custable (Anthony), Aaron Rieschick (Samantha) and Keaton Farmer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Gladys Hundley and 4 brothers, William, Jerry, Stanley and Duane Hundley.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Holton Cemetery. Norma will lie in state Tuesday, December 21, 2021 and Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Holton Community Hospital Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
