Wetmore – Norma June (Haas) Bruning, 70, of Wetmore, KS passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at her home in Wetmore. She was born September 20, 1952 in Chillicothe, MO the daughter of Marvin and June (Curnow) Haas. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in Breckenridge, Missouri. Norma graduated from Washburn University with her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

On December 27, 1970, Norma was united in marriage to Gary E. Bruning in Breckenridge, Missouri. They shared over 52 years of marriage.

Norma worked with her husband Gary at the Wetmore Feed & Supply Store where they owned and operated. Norma spent most of her working life teaching 4 ^th and 5 ^th grade at the Holton Elementary School for over 26 years, retiring in 2017. After retirement, Norma still continued to help her husband Gary on the family farm in Wetmore.

Norma was a member of the Wetmore United Methodist Church.

Norma is survived by her husband Gary of the home; two brothers, Tony Haas (Mary) of Marceline, Missouri and George Haas (Sylvia) of Chicago, Illinois.

Memorial service will me held at 6 P.M. Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Norma's family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
