Obituary

Naomi C. Maddox, 94, Valley Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at her home.

She was born Oct. 8, 1924, at Webster, the daughter of Oscar and Maude Coleman Clark.

Naomi provided home care and was a companion for many families in the Valley Falls area. She had worked at the American Beauty Food Processing Plant in Kansas City, KS, the Russell Stover Candies Factory at Kansas City, MO, and at the Sunflower Ordinance Munitions Plant at Desoto, KS, during WW II.

She married Dwight W. Maddox in 1946. He died Nov. 4, 1987.

Survivors include five sons, Ronald Maddox, and his wife, Mary Pat, and Robby Maddox, all of Valley Falls, Daryl Maddox, Pittsboro, NC, Roger Lasster, in Oregon, and Fred Lasster, Kincaid; a brother, Benny Clark in California; two sisters, Margaret Kerr, Topeka, and Ruth Calgrove in Washington; and 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ken Maddox; a great-great-granddaughter, Addyson Kay Stickel; four brothers, Doyle, Vernon, Aaron and Wayne Clark; and five sisters, Eva Berry, Avis Hastings, Louise Clark, Eleanor White, and Elizabeth Clark.

A private Graveside Service will be at the Coal Creek Cemetery, north of Valley Falls.

Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls is in charge of arrangements.
