Hiawatha- Nancy "Rosella" Eastwood, 73, formerly of Holton, KS passed away August 13, 2010 at a Hiawatha nursing home. She was born June 24, 1937 in St. Joseph, MO the daughter of John Charles and A. Leona Reno Coon. She graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph, MO. She had lived in Hiawatha since 2008 and previously in Holton, Horton and Colorado. She was a certified nurse's aide and housekeeper at Jackson County Nursing Home in Holton for many years and later worked independently cleaning homes.
Rosella married Gene M. Eastwood on June 24, 1955 in St. Joseph, MO. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1999. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Randy D. on November 20, 1967 and Christopher Allen on November 18, 1988; two sister, Lois Reid and Charlene Coon and a brother, Gary Claude Coon.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Eastwood (Deb) of Horton, KS and Jeff Eastwood (Amy) of Holton, KS; eight step-grandchildren, Shakota, Tyler, Matthew and Elijah Winters and Matthew, Amber, Kimberly and Kyle Pilant and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery.
