Obituary
Nadine J. Kabriel, 85, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
She was born June 10, 1923, at Mayetta, the daughter of Charles F. and Alfreda Magdalena Zeller Jager. She graduated from Rock Creek High School in 1941.
Nadine had worked at the Valley Falls school cafeteria for 10 years and later was a cook at Gragg's Recreation in Valley Falls for over 20 years. For the last several years she had worked with the Valley Falls Senior Citizens meals program.
She married Harold E. Kabriel at Topeka on June 10, 1941. He died on May 21, 1993. She was also preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy L. Jager.
Survivors include two sons, Carl E. (Debbie) Kabriel, Effingham, and Daryl L. (Mary) Kabriel, Silver Lake; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Falls Senior Citizens or to Jefferson County Hospice and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, 810 Broadway, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
