Myron M. Emmons

Myron Melvin Emmons, Sr., 87, of Horton, KS passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at his home. He was born July 13, 1938 in Pasco, WA, the son of Clifford and Freda Annadora (Brockman) Emmons.

Myron graduated from high school in DeRidder, Louisiana. He spent 67 years as an over-the-road truck driver, retiring at the age of 85 after logging an incredible 6.7 million miles. Owning and operating his own truck for many years, Myron was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to haul anything for anyone who needed help.

Myron was married to Teresa Moore May 14, 1980 in Holton, KS. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his children; Myron Emmons, Jr. (Becky), Becky Tuttle (Mark), Janet Niemann (Jeff) and Paul Emmons (Nita) all of Stroud, OK; his brother, Donald Emmons (Barbara) of Weston, TX and 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Bennett, his grandson, Cole Evan Emmons; sister, Merle Bolz and his brothers, Gene, Devon, and Wayne Emmons.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at a later date in Olive Hill Cemetery. He will lie in state Tuesday morning prior to the service. Memorials may be given to St. Croix Hospice or to Brown County Humane Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
