Myrl Sue Gurwell. 75, Topeka, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at her home.
She was born on Jan. 12, 1937, at Gladewater, TX, the daughter of Alton and Doris Hammock Fowler.
Myrl was a homemaker. She had worked as a data entry operator for several businesses in Topeka. She was a former member of the Highland Park Assembly of God Church.
She married Clayton D. Gurwell on June 3, 1954, at Bossier City, LA. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Clayton Dean Gurwell, Jr, Greensboro, NC, and Brent Lee (Cindy Thompson) Gurwell, Scranton; two daughters, Cheryle Lynn (John) Isaacs, Wetumpka, AL, and Susan Annette (James) Copeland. St. George, KS; and six grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at the Community Church, 1819 SW 21st, Topeka. Private burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. Monday, until service time.
