Netawaka- Morris D. Douglas, 76, of Netawaka, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
He was born June 4, 1935 in Soldier, KS the son of Harold A. and Eulah I. (Lane) Douglas. Morris was a farmer/stockman, a mechanic and Transportation Director for Jackson Heights for 22 years and a bus driver. He was a former Mason and had served as past Master at Netawaka Lodge #180. He was also a member of Banner Grange for 10 years, where he was 5th Degree and a Master. He attended Circleville Christian Church.
On July 22, 1953 Morris married Neva N. Seastrom in Holton. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his sons, Dennis D. Douglas and John Douglas both of Netawaka, KS, Ron Douglas (Kathy) of Tonganoxie, KS, and Rusty Douglas (Pam) of Mayetta, KS; his daughter, Kathryn J. Woodall (Matt) of Kansas City, KS; his sister, Stella Dibbern (Ray) of Circleville, KS; his 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kim Douglas of Topeka, KS and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Rick Douglas in 2000, his sister Maxine M. McCrory (Cork) and two brothers, Wayne D. Douglas and Harold Eugene Douglas (Opal).
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with burial following in Netawaka Cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
