Mona Ferne Chrisman, 89, of Oklahoma City, OK, formerly of Sabetha, KS and Soldier, KS passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at care home in Oklahoma City. She was born January 22, 1919 in Soldier, KS the daughter of Henry and Audrey McKinsey Rieschick.
She was a member of the Hew Hope United Methodist Church in Oklahoma. She belonged to the Silver Spurs Square Dance Club and WMU Ladies.
Ferne married Gardner "Buzz" Chrisman in 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1999. She was also preceded by sisters, Faye Meyer and Lois Wheeler. Ferne is survived by sons, Dennis Chrisman and his wife, Kimberlee of Edmond, OK and Gary Chrisman of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Twyla Tribble of Houston, TX; brothers, Clyde Rieschick, Claude Rieschick, and Keith Rieschick all of Soldier; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. Ferne will lie in state at Mercer Funeral Home after noon on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Soldier Cemetery.
