MINNIE I. JACKMAN
HOLTON-Minnie Irene Jackman, 89, of Holton, KS, died Friday, December 7, 2007 in Topeka, KS. She was born November 26, 1918 in Granada, KS, the daughter of Clarence Elmer and Bertha Ella League Chase.
Minnie attended school in Granada and lived most of her life in the Circleville and Holton communities. She was a homemaker. She worked at White's Variety Store in Sabetha in the late 50s. She also worked at the County Clerk's Office and the Jackson County Health Department in Holton in the 70s. She was a member of the Circleville United Methodist Church and the Ayli Bridge Club in Circleville. She was a life-member of the VFW Auxiliary and was active in the Jackson County Senior Center in Holton.
She was married to Clarence Jackman on January 29, 1936 in Holton, KS. He passed away December 13, 1996. She was also preceded in death by 2 children, Raymond Lee Jackman in 2003 and Louise Ilene Stauffer in 2005; 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Survivors include two children; Gary Jackman of Topeka and Beth Mitchell and her husband, Loren of Holton; daughter-in-law, Sue Ann Jackman and son-in-law, Russell Stauffer both of Sabetha; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, KS. Private family interment will be in the Circleville Cemetery at a later date. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
