Obituary

Milton Reichart, 85, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Village Villa, at Nortonville.
He was born Aug. 9, 1923, at Half Mound, northwest of Valley Falls, the son of Alexander and Clara Verena Hefty Reichart. He graduated from Valley Falls High School and attended the University of Kansas.
Milton farmed and also worked at Haul-Mor Manufacturing in Valley Falls. He was a member of the Kanza Chapter of the Kansas Anthropological Association and was a contributing writer to their publications. In 2004, Milton was the first recipient of the Kansas Anthropological Association Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a Life Member of the Kansas State Historical Society. He attended the Coal Creek United Methodist Church.
He was proceeded in death by a brother, Howard Reichart, and four sisters, Martha Spence, Edith Keen, Viola Reichart and Alvina Reichart. Survivors include one nephew, and six nieces.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Coal Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., Saturday, until service time.
