MILDRED E. BALDWIN
HOLTON- Mildred Eileen (McBroom) Baldwin, 87, of Holton, KS died Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Onaga Hospital. She was born April 13, 1920 in Jackson County, KS, the daughter of William Leroy and Frances Bertha McGrath McBroom.
Mildred lived most of her life in the Holton community where she worked as a CNA for over 30 years. She retired from Jackson County Nursing Home in 1989. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Scott City and had attended the First United Methodist Church in Holton.
She was married to Glenn Elmer "Bud" Baldwin. He died on June 7, 1956. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John "Bud" McBroom and Marvin McBroom; her sisters, Helen Ellis, Mary Medlock and Barbara Fairfield; and her granddaughter, Barbara Jean Kern. Survivors include her daughters, Clara Marie "C.M." Kern of Topeka, KS and Glenda Kay Barber of Horton, KS; her sister, Joann Dittemore of Overland Park, KS; her grandchildren, Daniel Baldwin, Lori Shaw, Trudi Henry and Lynda Webster; great-grandchidlren, Daniella and Jeaniella Baldwin, Shelby Shaw, Ariel Swindale, Chase Shaw, Makayla Webster and Ty and Tre Henry.
Cremation is planned. Memorial graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Medicalodges Jackson County c/o Mercer Funeral Home, Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
