MAYETTA- Michelle Lee Scheidegger, 52, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at her home. She was born February 18, 1970 in Nebraska, the daughter of Michael and Sheryl (Dean) Stremmel.

Michelle graduated from Royal Valley High School in 1988, and after high school she received her certification as a CNA. She provided loving care to her patients at various nursing homes. Michelle continued her loving care for her family as a housewife and mother. She was also an avid dog lover.

Michelle married Charles Scheidegger on October 22, 1994 in Holton, KS. They celebrated over 28 years of marriage.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael & Sheryl.

Survivors include her husband, Charles, of the home; 2 sons, Michael Stremmel (Kelcie) of Topeka, KS, and Jonathan Stremmel (Shawna) of Topeka, KS; a sister, Lacretia Porubsky (Mark) of Topeka, KS; and 4 grandchildren, Rowan, Kaylin, Kaison, and Raelynn.

Memorial visitation will be Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial at Hoyt Cemetery will be at a later date.  Memorials may be given to Jefferson County Humane Society c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
