Micheala Jean "Mickie" Abel, 70, of Holton, KS passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at her home. She was born July 23, 1945 in Holton, the daughter of Milton and Irma Higley Haag.

She was married to Allen Abel on March 28, 1965 in Holton, KS. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her 3 daughters; Teralee Sue Abel of Holton, KS, Melinda "Jo" Cordell (Larry) of Havensville, KS and Alane Diane Bloom (Jim) of Goff, KS; her son, Allen Dean Abel (Jessica) of Holton, KS; her sisters, Venita Fiedler (Dan) of Holton, KS and Rhetta "Sue" Wheeler (Wayne) of Circleville, KS; her sister-in-law, Dixie Haag; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gale Haag.

Mickie graduated from Holton High School in 1964. She had worked for Trail Lane Kennel near Soldier for several years and worked for Wal-Mart in Holton for 25 years. She was a member of the Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and the Circleville Saddle Club.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Mickey will lie in state at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Private family interment will be in Circleville Cemetery.
