Michael Dean "Mike" Sloop, 46, of Houston, TX; formerly of Holton, KS, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in Houston. He was born December 30,1972 in Topeka, KS, the son of Gary Dean and Andrea Jane (Woolery) Sloop.

Mike attended Holton schools and proudly earned his GED in Houston, TX; he also earned his Security Guard License in Houston. Mike had worked various jobs in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. He was currently a security guard for a medical clinic in Houston.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Houston and was baptized on June 23, 2019.

Survivors include his parents, Gary and Andrea Sloop of Donna, TX; grandfather, L.D. Sloop of Holton, KS; 3 sisters, Michele R. Nimmo (Matthew) of Fulshear, TX, Laura C. Staufenberg (Michael) of Topeka, KS and Lindsey M. Garcia (Angel) of Donna, TX; brother, Mark L. Sloop (Virginia) of Bartlesville, OK and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Lois Sloop and maternal grandparents, Andrew and Laura Woolery.

Memorial Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Wheaton Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
