Michael "Mike" K. Gold, 52, of Goff, died Thursday September 6, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mike was born September 28, 1959 in Horton, Kansas the son of Thomas "Tom" and Alyce (Burke) Gold. He graduated from Wetmore High School in 1977. Mike was a supervisor for 23 years at OHSE meat products in Topeka and later worked at Crosswinds in Sabetha for 7 years.

Mike is survived by: his father, Tom Gold of Goff, KS; his daughter, Amber Leigh Gold of Topeka, KS; his four brothers, John Gold of Topeka, KS, Gary Gold of Hugoton, KS, David Gold of Emporia, KS and Patrick Gold of Goff, KS; and his 2 grandchildren Heavan and Kayden. He was preceded in death by his mother Alyce in 2004.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery at Goff. The family will greet friends 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. Memorials are suggested to Mike's grandchildren's education fund and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
