Michael A. Harrington, 63, Valley Falls, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at his home.
He was born Aug. 7, 1947, at Salina, the son of John R. and Irene Scheid Harrington. He graduated from Solomon High School and later served in the Kansas Army National Guard.
Mike was a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic for the Hamm Companies at Perry and was a member of Operator Engineers Local 101. He was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Valley Falls and the Model A Ford Club of America.
He married Nancy Nevins on May 12, 1973, at Valley Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scott Harrington, on Sept. 21, 1983.
Survivors include his wife Nancy, at the home; a son Dominic Harrington, Valley Falls; a daughter, Michelle DeWilde, her husband, Mike, and their children, Coy and Madeline, all of Grantville; and two brothers, Dave Harrington and Pat Harrington, both of Valley Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. A Rosary followed by a visitation will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
