Melita "Ann" Snavely, 75, of Whiting, KS passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at her home. She was born October 19, 1947 in Miami, FL, the daughter of Elmer Samuel and Doretha "Richie" (Drummonds) Sands.

Ann was owner operator (alongside her husband, Dick) of Rick's Country Store and Snavely's Pub both of Whiting, KS. She had also worked for Jackson County Home Health assisting patients in many areas. Ann worked for the Country Mart, and Ron's IGA both of Holton. Most notably she was a homemaker, caring for her family.

She was a member of the Whiting Baptist Church.

Ann married Richard A. "Dick" Snavely on May 29, 1971 in Miami, FL; they celebrated over 52 years of marriage, before his passing on July 19, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Richie Sands.

Survivors include her son, Richard Samuel Lee "Ricky" Snavely, of Whiting, KS; 1 sister, 2 brothers, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be at Springhill at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
