HOLTON- Maxine Arlene (Myers) Mulkey, 87, of Holton, KS passed away September 2, 2011 in Topeka.
She was born December 15, 1923 in Horton, the daughter of Carl and Grace (Stanbarger) Conger. Maxine was a housewife, mother and worked at Jackson County Nursing Home as a cook for nine years before retiring. On June 30, 1942, she married Clarence Myers in Holton. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1973. She later married Matt Mulkey on November 5, 1982 in Oskaloosa. He preceded her in death on September 3, 1988.
She is survived by her sons, Leonard (Rose) Myers of Holton and Ronald Myers of Delia; ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby May, Lorraine Conger, Edna Conger Hays, and Dorothy Moody and her brothers, Lloyd, Kenneth and Forrest Conger.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday September 7, 2011 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, with burial following in Bucks Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Holton Community Hospital and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
