Maxine Beerbower, 91, McLouth, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at a Topeka hospital.
She was born on Aug. 23, 1920, the daughter of Wilbur C. and Ethel M. Laird Brown. She attended school at Ozawkie and Valley Falls.
Maxine had worked at the Round Corner Drug Store, the Dog House Cafe and the Lawrence Laundry, all in Lawrence.
She married James Arthur Beerbower on Dec. 23, 1940, at Lawrence. He died on Dec. 23, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Merle Brown and Wayne Brown, and two sisters, Doris Martin and Hazel Maline.
Survivors include two sisters, Harriett Tullis, McLouth, and Dorma Allen, Meriden.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, until service time. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088.
