TILLOTSON
HOLTON- Maurice D. "Don" Tillotson, 84, of Holton, died Monday, March 06, 2006 at a Topeka hospital.
He was born July 23, 1921 in Osceola, IA, the son of Raymond and Pearl Brown Tillotson. He graduated from high school in Creston, IA in 1940. He had lived in Holton since 1946.
Don was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He managed the Arcada Theatre in Holton from 1946 to 1954 and worked as a Prudential Insurance agent from 1954 to 1984.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Holton. He was also a member of American Legion Post #44 and V.F.W. Post #1367 both in Holton. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Holton and the Arab Shrine in Topeka.
He was married to Nellie Marie Hess on August 17, 1941 in Marysville, MO. She survives. Other survivors include son, Michael Tillotson and his wife Patti of Owasso, OK; daughter, Sherry McAlexander and her husband Bob of Tulsa, OK; sister, Alice Perkins of Des Moines, IA; brothers, Dick Tillotson of Henderson, NV and Clair Dean Tillotson of Burlington, IA; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Troy McAlexander in 2000.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006 at First Christian Church in Holton. Burial will be in Creston, IA. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
