Mary Alice Kuglin, 66, of Holton passed away Sunday evening May 2nd, 2010 in Holton.
Mary was born January 24, 1944 the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Guffy) Banks in Sabetha, Kansas. She graduated from Fairview High School in 1962. Mary married John E. Quinton on May 30, 1966. They were later divorced. On May 19, 1979 she married David Charles Kuglin in Holton. Mary was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. She was a member of the altar society, taught CCD classes at the church and was past president of the Jackson County Nursing Home Board. Mary worked as the secretary for Morton Buildings since 1972.
Mary is survived by her husband David, of the home; her children, John E. Quinton Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas, Ann Jones and her husband Rick of Council Bluffs, IA, Kay Smith and her husband Jay of Wetmore, KS, and Troy Kuglin and his wife Jenny of McLouth, KS; her six grandchildren, Nathan Babb, Danielle Alley, Jordan McManigal, Paul, Katie and Matthew Kuglin; her sisters, Elizabeth Weick of Topeka, KS, Rosie LaClair of Mayetta, KS and Martha Lohe of Centerview, MO; her brothers, Jim Banks of Topeka, KS and Bob Banks of Hiawatha, KS. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joe Banks.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 5th at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton. The rosary will be recited Tuesday evening, May 4th at 6:00 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home with visitation following. Cremation will follow Mass with inurnment at Holton Cemetery at a later date.
