Mary Chloe (Thomas) Harden, 88, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at South Pines of Holton, with family by her side. She was born March 1, 1934 in Mayetta, KS, the daughter of Edwin and Opal (Burke) Thomas.

Mary graduated from Mayetta High School in 1952. She had worked for the State of Kansas in the KPERS division, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and was an activity director for various nursing homes.

Mary was a member of the Mayetta United Methodist Church.

She married Charles R. Harden on December 25, 1952 in Mayetta. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this December.

Survivors include her husband, Charles of the home; her son, James M. Harden (Terry) of Hiawatha, KS; her daughter, Jeannie M. Parrett of Mayetta, KS; 6 grandchildren, Courtney, Crystal, Caitlyn, Tiffany, Dillon and Levi and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Opal Thomas; her son, Thomas Harden and 2 grandchildren, Arial and Anthony.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Mayetta United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Mayetta Cemetery. Family will greet friends 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to the Mayetta United Methodist Church c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
