HOLTON – Mary Ann Bothwell, 74, of Holton passed away Monday, August 17, 2009 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born April 17, 1935 in Hinkley, CA. She was the daughter of Fred and Gertrude Foote Graham. She worked at Wal-Mart in Holton. She had lived in Holton for the last 4 years.
Mary married Gary McAlpine, Sr. in 1954 in California. They were later divorced. She later married James B. Bothwell on August 17, 1988 in Outpost Junction, CA. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by a daughter, Donna Childers; a sister, Tootsie King and a brother, Ron Graham.
She is survived by sons, Gary McAlpine, Matthew McAlpine, and Mark McAlpine all of Holton; brothers, Bob and Fred Graham both of California; four grandsons, one great grandson, and one great great granddaughter.
Mary was cremated. A celebration of life will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at her son Gary's home, 218 Ohio in Holton; family will be receiving friends from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. as his home. Reverend Dennis Matthews will be helping with the celebration. Friends may come by Mercer Funeral Home to sign Mary's guestbook through Wednesday.
