Mary V. Blackburn, 82, formerly of Holton, KS passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at a Topeka hospital. She was born January 23, 1930 in Holton, the daughter of Albert Matthew and Edna C. Fink Edwards.

Mary attended Holton schools and worked as a nurse's aide at the Holton Community Hospital for 22 years. She later worked at the Beatitudes Nursing Home in Phoenix, AZ and at Presbyterian Manor in Topeka. After her retirement, she worked as a night assistant for Luther Place Apartments in Topeka.

She was married to Arnold Eubanks on August 8, 1946. They were later divorced. On August 7, 1970, Mary was married to Vincent Blackburn. He died on October 3, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, Kenneth, Buford, Cecil and Herbert Edwards and 3 sisters, Helen Barton, Ruth Wallisch and Waneva Lutz and a step-son Richard Blackburn.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Alice "Beth" Lott and her husband, Floyd, of Bryan, TX; her son, Victor Roy Eubanks and his wife, Jennifer, of Holton, KS; her step-son, Arthur K. Blackburn of Ramsey, MN; her sister, Lila Haney of Topeka, KS; her 4 grandchildren, David Lott of Bryan, TX, Mary (Daron) Peters of Bryan, TX, Jenna and Victoria Eubanks of Holton, KS; her great-grandson, Parker Peters of Bryan, TX; her step-grandchildren, Eric and Benjamin Blackburn and her step-great-grandchildren, Shane, Orlando and Emerald.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 13th, 2012 at Mercer Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Aldersgate Village c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton 66436.
