FORDHAM
HAVENSVILLE- Marvin Dale Fordham, 81, of Havensville, KS passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 at Golden Acres Nursing Center in Onaga. He was born February 15, 1927 on the family farm south of Havensville, the son of Ephraim and Birdie McLin Fordham.
Mr. Fordham graduated from Havensville High School in 1945. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He spent many years hauling cars and furniture all over the United States. He owned grocery stores in Havensville and Rossville, a café in St. Marys and most recently was a distributor of Wisconsin cheese. He was a member of the American Legion Post #333 in Havensville.
He married Althea M. Cordell on June 21, 1948 in Holton, KS. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Dale Eugene Fordham of St. Marys, KS, Marvin LeRoy Fordham of Minneapolis, KS, Thomas Wayne Fordham of Topeka, KS; two daughters, Linda Kay Horgan of Wheaton, KS, Susan Marie Achten of Wetmore, KS; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Clifford, Neil, David, Darrell and an infant brother Delbert Fordham; and two infant great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors will be in Bucks Grove Cemetery.
