Martin Shumaker, 77, of Netawaka, KS passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka; one day short of his 78 ^th birthday. He was born June 2, 1940 in Sabetha, KS, the son of Walter and Martha (Martin) Shumaker.

Martin graduated from Wetmore High School in 1958. He was a lifelong farmer/stockman in Brown and Jackson counties. Martin worked for Goodyear Tire Company for 37 years; retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Wetmore United Methodist Church, Goodyear Union Local #307, Wetmore FFA and NRA.

He married Marilyn Hoffman on September 19, 1959 in Centralia, KS; celebrating 58 years of marriage. Marilyn survives of the home. Other survivors include 3 sons, Brad Shumaker (Tracey), Todd Shumaker (Sandy) and Chris Shumaker (Elaine) all of Netawaka, KS; a sister, Ruth Erlenmaier of Wetmore, KS; 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Wetmore United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Wetmore Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
