Marjorie Lorraine White, 93, of Centralia formerly of Holton and Havensville, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 at a Centralia care facility. She was born June 26, 1915 in Circleville, KS the daughter of Fred and Mabel Rule Barnes. She attended grade school north of Soldier until 1929 when she and her family moved to a home east of Havensville. Marjorie graduated from Havensville High School in 1933 and had been a member of the Havensville Christian Church. She was a homemaker and had worked at Golden Acres Nursing home in Onaga for 10 years. She had lived in Holton since 1981.
Marjorie was married to Theodore "Ted" White on January 9, 1937. He passed away December 9, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Reva Jean Allen in 1984; her brothers, Dallas, Dale and Raymond Barnes and her sister, Vivian Barr. Survivors include her daughters, Ginger L. Cain Davis of Topeka, KS and Sharon Wrosch (LaVern) of Onaga, KS; her son, Wayne C. White (Faith) of Hutchinson, KS; her brother, Don Barnes of Topeka, KS; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at the Havensville Christian Church in Havensville, KS. Interment will be in Havensville Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Havensville Christian Church or Alzheimer's Association c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
