MAYETTA – Marjorie J. Robb, 81, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Maple Heights Nursing Center in Hiawatha. She was born September 18, 1927 in Mayetta, the daughter of Richard Preston and Iola Mae Burks James.
Mrs. Robb graduated from Mayetta High School in 1943 and attended Emporia State University receiving her teaching certificate. She spent a few years working as a school teacher in Fairview Country School and Silver Lake schools; she worked at Denison State Bank in Holton as a bank teller and later was an office manager for Zirger Assoc. in Holton. She was a member of the Denison Reformed Presbyterian Church and a member of the Fairview Club.
She married Stewart C. Robb on June 1, 1948 in Denison, KS. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2004. She was also preceded by a daughter, Sue Weyhrauch in 1996 and a brother David James in 1998.
Marjorie is survived by two sons, James K. Robb and his wife Beaty of Moundridge, KS, Thomas P. Robb and his wife Cheryll of Mayetta, KS; a daughter, Sally L. McMillen and her husband Dwight of Frankfort, KS; a brother, Richard "Bert" James of Searcy, AR; and 5 grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Denison. Private family inurnment will be at a later date at the Mayetta Cemetery. Family will greet friends 6:30 -8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorials may be given to Reformed Presbyterian Church or Alzheimer's Assoc. c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
