Marjorie Lou "Wauksaqua" Heim, 56, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026 surrounded by her family at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She was born November 15, 1969 in Holton, KS the daughter of Vernon Barrow and Myra Matchie. She attended Little Priest Tribal College in Winnebago, Nebraska.

She was a homemaker most of her life where she was a devoted and nurturing mother and grandmother. She was a member Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.

Marjorie is survived by 2 daughters, Samantha Heim (Kyle Vega) of Topeka, KS and Arwyn “Heather” Heim (Paul Lee) of Topeka, KS; 3 sons, Paul Heim of Topeka, KS, Jason Heim (Raquel Bahr) Topeka, KS and Charles Heim (Faith Cole) of Atchison, KS; a sister, Ruta Mendez of Holton, KS; a brother, Raymond Nioce of Holton, KS; 10 grandchildren, Carson, Gracelin, Kason, Lennox, Pearl, Zaylee, Ciaran, Mena, Jackson and Rosemary; and many nieces and nephews she loved as her own.

She is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Myra; 3 brothers, Benjamin Nioce, Paul Lawrence and Sam Barrow.

Every beat of Marjorie’s heart was a tribute to her family. She was a sanctuary for the weary and a friend to the forgotten.

Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2026 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow at the Thunder Eagle Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Thunder Eagle Cemetery and sent in c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
