MARILYN JANE MAY

HOLTON- Marilyn Jane May, 69, of Holton, KS, formerly of Topeka and Denison, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Medicalodges Jackson Co. in Holton. She was born October 23, 1939 in Holton, the daughter of Jesse W. and Rachel A. Carpenter Brownlow.
She graduated from Denison High School in 1957. Marilyn worked at the Slimaker Dress Factory for 7 years and was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Denison Union Church.
She married Darrell May, they later divorced. Survivors include her mother, Rachel Brownlow of Holton, KS; a daughter, Sandra D. Butler (Don) of Holton, KS; a son, Daniel L. May (Lori) of Topeka, KS; 3 sisters, Kathleen Johnston of Las Vegas, NV, Shirley Horr of Holton, KS, Linda S. Brownlow of Holton, KS; 2 brothers, Dale Brownlow of Topeka, KS, Donald Brownlow of Mayetta, KS; 3 grandchildren, Korey Butler, Justin Butler and Amanda May; and 2 great grandchildren, Ava and Conner Miles-Butler.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse W. Brownlow in 1985; 2 sisters, Evelyn Weatherhead in 1983 and Doris Armstrong in 1990.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
